When are you going to fix that annoying voice and flag error for the Romans and the Hellenics? My general sounds like an idiot, and my flag is that of a far distant empire! please fix this, it's driving me nuts!

Lol. They ARE having some manpower problems, you know. It's just a banner anyway. Would you rather your Romans being able to recruit outside of Italy, or would you rather settle for having Roman banners sitting on the cities while you can't recruit a damn outside of the peninsula?

Do you honestly believe that making demands is going to speed up the process?
Maybe if you rename all the sound files and banners it will be fixed.Originally Posted by Imperator Silas

We swapped the cultures around and a consequence of that is that Greeks and Romans share the same culture, and therefore, the same buildings, portraits, and sounds. Not really much that can be done for it, except to redo all the voices and portraits into some neutral, non-Greek, non-Roman version. You interested?
It shouldn't be a priority. Maybe something for a final version on 1.5? I heard you can write your own cultures there, but don't shoot me if I'm wrong.![]()
I found an interesting way of getting round the irritating seleucid banners in battles: put them off. That way, battles look better anyway.![]()
The baners are an easy fix, you jsut need to find the files asoseated with each faction's baner and swap the names on them, in fact there is a thred that already covers how to do that in the bug forum. I started it a while back so you will have to dig to find deataild instructions, but it is there

Ok, i'm sorry, I'm just not a computer whiz. Now what simple explanation is there for solving this problem? I don't want to mess anything up...
simple explanation coz you don't want to mess things up = wait for the patch ;)

I believe you can do that in the preferences.txt file. There is an option for whether or not you want to see those giant banners suspended above each unit in the battlemap. Though I personally feel they should remain there--makes for easier selecting in the heat of battle.

Its really not that hard to tell them apart and the banners just float there.Originally Posted by pezhetairoi

Not true. Often, thanks to the Eleutheroi and Romani troops wearing white tunics, both of them, when they are locked in battle I have a seriously hard time telling where the front line is. Maybe I just suck, I don't know. But the banners really help me select a unit, or at least see what unit it is when I hold my pointer over it.

Additionally, rebel sub-factions will have their own unique banners in the patch. So it's another halfway decent reason to keep them on.Plus, some factions will have distinct captain/general banners so that it's easier to spot where the leader is in the middle of a big battle because of his special standard.
A bit off topic, but whne is the patch expectied out?

If you want to see what troops are yours, hit Ctrl+A. It highlights all of your units, making it easier to see where everyone is.Originally Posted by pezhetairoi

Easiest thing to do is to wait for the patch. If you really want it fixed now, you'll have to download Vercingetorix's PAK extractor and place it in the "RTW\Data\Packs" folder. Set it to open patch_0.pak and patch_1.pak as well as the others it's already set to open. Place the files into the appropriate folders, then you can begin swapping stuff around.Ok, i'm sorry, I'm just not a computer whiz. Now what simple explanation is there for solving this problem? However, it's pretty tricky if you're not used to modding, so I'd wait for the patch.
Malrubius:
You cannot use any Julii/Brutii/Scipii sound files for the Romani? Or is that simply for now?
I did do some looking for sound files and banners to rename and swap around, but I couldn't find the folders.
Perhaps a small patch could be released to fix the problem, but it honestly doesn't bug me as much as it seems to be bugging others. I'd rather wait for the next version. It'll probably reach us sooner if nobody has to fiddle with a patch just to fix two factions' flags and voices.
