Thread: Recommended Difficulty?

  1. #1

    Default Recommended Difficulty?

I know read this somewhere, but I cannot find it, neither here or at TWC, I have read all your guides and such (I think):

Battle difficulty is medium alright, got that, but what is the campaign difficulty EB is designed for, giving you the most realistic campaign/economic balancing?

    Thanks.

The better campaign difficulty is Very Hard since it will allow rebels to siege your cities.
Also I think that the better battle difficulty is Hard and not Medium.

Officially: VH for campagne and Medium for battles.

If you want a challenge i would suggest VH/H.

Wasn't it so that you gets bonuses in H or VH battles in patch 1.2?

VH campaign = Ridiculous rebel 'uprisings' even inbetween two cities that have green happy faces. Play as Audiu or Averni and you might even lose a campaign early on VH/M due to 3 rebel stacks spawning every other turn and most of them have 2+ gestae units in them.

This theory has long since been debunked, AFAIK. From what I remember, the bonuses apply to both the player and the AI in custom battles, but work as they are meant to in campaign battles.

So VH/M is the difficulty most people play on?

    Even experience players?

I`m asking this coz i´m afraid to start on VH/M and end up having heoric victory after heroic victory.

I´m not better player than any of you so if you guys plays on VH/M and have a challenge on the game, i´m cool then... so.. where do you play for get a realistic/challenging game?

Yes, I'd say VH/M is the way to go. Sure, it also depends on the faction you are using. For example, the Romans are much easier than say, Baktria. I would suggest medium battle difficulty to start with as the best method. Its works great for most factions. Also, I play VH campaign and I don't find rebels to be as much of a hassle as they are somtimes made out to be. As long as you can keep them off your roads and away from your cities, they are no big deal. Have fun!

    Default AW: Recommended Difficulty?

As for dealing with rebel uprisings on VH/VH I find forts help alot with decreasing the frequency. On my Romani and Carthage campaigns after placing forts in all provinces the uprisings nearly stoped all together.
