Default Very silly question about Colossus

I am waiting oh so impatiently for the first patch (please please please) so I haven't gotten more than 10 years into any faction ( tho I have tried four of them ) so my question is, do you have the Colossus of Rhodes destroyed by an earthquake in 226 BC ? That would be such a cool touch.

I don't think scripts can destroy buildings. They can give it 100% damage but it can still be repaired.

Still, that'd be kinda cool, and make the player have to repair it if they want the bonuses back.

i wish they'd make the special buildings cost more.

as of now, if I sack the temple at delphi, i get 133mnai. there'd be a whole lot more wealth than that in a special temple like that, I'd think.

also it's super cheap to repair them too, literally pocket change.

    please jack up the price.

didn't rome build the colisseum with the loot from the temple of jerusalem?

these special buildings should heed us more than chump change if we decide to let our troops loot them

I've already taken care of that mike.

But since unique buildings are shared - I sort of did an average of all the ones that are variants of a given level. So it won't be what we would really like for many of them, but they will all be a little better than the old amounts you got for destroying them. You could make 1500 mnai for destroying some of them for sure now.

The Colossus was built apparently from the material left by the Macedonians after they abandoned an unsuccessful seige of Rhodes- the Rhodians built it as a thank offering- so destroying it on purpose really shouldn't yeild anything more than the scrap value of the materials involved. This is in fact sorta what happened after the muslim conquest- I forgot the names involved but after the pieces had been lying around for a long time they were carted off by a merchant and sold for scrap.

Some wonders, though, should be worth more, such as Delphi because of all the treasure there. And some, like Stonehenge, would yeild you nothing if you destroyed them but cost a lot to rebuild- in labour if in nothing else.

Is it possible to attach tourist income to the wonders? I know it sounds a little silly but there was tourism of a kind, or in some cases religous pilgramage that generated revenue for the owners. I know that it is outside the scope of the game but the Amphitryonic Council for Delphi and the Shrine at Eleusis and so on played serious and complicated roles in the history of the classical period.

There is income from "tourists" or pilgrims or other reasons on many of the 'wonders', but not all. We can make some wonders worth more to destroy, but again, they are actually variants of the same buildings, so we have to 'share' the costs and average them. There's nothing we can do about that that is an easy solution.

Scripting 100% damage would do actually. The colossus was in a position to be repaired and one of the Ptolemies offered to fund it but the work was forbidden by an Oracle. We just ignore the Oracle and repair it. Should be extremely expensive though.

Perhaps ignoring the Oracle could/should bring about some other disaster.

    Just a thought.
