I didn't really like Chapter House at first, but it grew on me as I scrolled down the thread. I'd vote for Chapter House.

Chapter House is leading, in no small part to my blatant selfpromoting fashion, the one you all love me for.

Senate and Akademia are nice choices too, and the Sanctuary could also work.

    Chapter House.

    Why?

First, Kraxis says so, and it's like Simon Says...it's always right.

Second, we are here for war. Holy wars or not, what matters! Crusade away, babies!

Third, it feels like Medieval Total War, which feels like it is in a Monastery, with a certain bloodthirst, of course, which means our military campaigns going on in here.

    And fourth, I like it.

Therefore, take my vote for Chapter House.

I like a number of the suggestions (and can't come up with anything better, dang it), but I think I'll give my vote to 'Chapter House' as well.

Personally, I like chapter house because it stays within the M:TW theme.

Incidentally, you missed out all interactive histories older than a few days: there is Antiochus' Dilemma; Michael's Crucible; Manstein's Woes and Battle over Pearl Harbour.

Edit: after I posted this, I realize it might have been intentional. But I'd rather have them archived here then lost in the depths of the Monastery.

So who wants to make a poll?
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...

I think we should wait until everyone has had a chance to voice his ideas. This thread has only been up for a day.

    OMG!!!
i just thought of a good one, "The Confesion Box" that is where warriors home from the battle would re-tell there stories and so be forgiven. it gives a reason to tell the story and it would be in a monestary!!!

I really think "The Time Machine" or "The TARDIS" would be the best for several reasons.

    1. You will be talking about what if...s. So it is like travelling through time, er, in your mind.

    2. It will avoid all the culture/religious disputes.

    3. It sounds cool.

The Chapter House used to be the venue for disciplinary congregations, business transactions with outsiders and the like, which does not really fit the bill of the alternative history threads.

I was thinking of another possibility: Claustrum, the Latin term for the cloister or half-open colonnade running along the inside of the monastic quadrangle. Open to the fresh air as well as to the vagaries of the mind, the cloister would be the ideal spot for monks to repair between duties and discuss casual topics, exchange gossip or address pressing matters of conscience and theological speculation in a less formal atmosphere.

Ok, to keep this from going on forever I will close down the nominations now and select the best six for a poll.

I was about to call it a win for Chapter House, but then I thought of the 'masses' that usually don't comment or post, they should have a chance to give their opinion too.
