    Default Some questions

Hey there, i recently downloaded this mod, and i have to say, it looks great.
    However, i have some questions

First of all, i am beginning to doubt the scripting is working for me... I push the show me how button, but i am playing as romans and appart from seasons, i have yet to notice any effect. (265 bc)

Secondly, money. i started a campaign as carthago, and per turn, i lost 7000 gold, without spending any. in fact, there was not a single city making a profit. am i doing something wrong? playing as the romans, the statistics claim my neighbours have a treasury containing give or take 20.000 gp, and im stuck at 3. is this normal?

i had some more, but for now i'll see if anyone can tell me whats up. (me having to stop whining and play a little longer for example).

If sesons are working (you have 4 sesons instead of 2) then scripts are working.

This is made this way so you can choose two diffrent game styles:
1)Use your army to start conquering right from the begining
2)Disband troops that you dont need so you have positive income and start developing your cities.

The choice is yours. Do what you like best.

the statistics claim my neighbours have a treasury containing give or take 20.000 gp, and im stuck at 3. is this normal?
Yes its normal. We help AI with economics. EB economy is difficult for player. For AI it would be imposable without some help.

ok, i'm back with some more.

    Marian reform.
i'm shure this has been asked a 1000 times, but i've been unable to find any info on this. when does it occur. at a certain date, through scripting?

    Pirate fleet.
I've noticed a 4 star pirate admiral, who has been kicking ass in the mediteranean sea. there is not a single roman, karthaginian, greek or whatever fleet left. somewhat unrealistic considering the amount of money i need to raise a fleet. these pirates are charity workers maybe?

    AI conquest.
I started a campaign at medium diff. I know that is not really difficult (hey, it says medium), but the ai is really struggeling. i know ca sucked at the AI, but this is really something. i have yet to discover a computer controlled player that has taken a rebel provice. but that will probably be the medium diff.

well. gotta say, this mod is real nice.

Set to 107BC by the script, but the team has stated they want to introduce dynamic conditionals for the reforms (eg, lose several battles, your population in Rome decreases, etc etc).

I agree, that pirate fleet is somewhat overpowered. Triple gold chevrons?

Hmm, the AI seems to expand just fine in my games. They snap up most Eleutheroi provinces pretty quickly in most cases. Try H or VH Campaign difficulty, that will get them going.

    ah, more questions!
the year is 245 or 246 bc. I suddenly get the message that i have been unable to meet the achievements made by augustus in his time, and i have therefore have failed to meet with the victory conditions. appart from that message, i get another 30 or 40. ranging from new laws and killed politicians to plagues and earthquakes. appearently, prudence is not a virtue.

did i forget to activate scripting?

    thank you.

and yet another question. (still playing romans)

I cant train any troops in the southern provinces of itally. taras, and rheghion. I buildt the "I" govermnment building. and i replaced the baracks. but still, i can train neither roman troops, nor local troops. In gaul i did not have that problem, and i was able to train native troops there, without replacing any buildings. is this normal?

It's a known bug too. There were errors in one of building files. But It's already fixed, I believe.

    May I just say, this:

    Cracked me up.

And I found as Carthage that its pretty important to keep your fleet together at first, let the debt run, and kill those danged pirates at the outset. Makes trade a lot nicer later on. Of course, if it takes 20 turns to find them, well, that would stink. But I found one in about 2-3, the another a turn or two after a mopped the first one up, and then smashed the one from the north sea a few turns later, before disbanding all of em (and slowing rising from the debt).

Anyone know if the hit you take from having a port or two sieged per turn is a big enough one to justify several thousand m(o)nai (heh) of upkeep per turn while killing the fleets? If you don't take em out early, they get all those crazy stars and bars (they must be Americans then, right?)

Perhaps he means that it has been fixed in the patch that they will be releasing. I haven't seen a user fix for this either, so that's what I am assuming.
