That sort of thing is probably about the most common firearms-related cause of death around here. Seems like American hunters aren't much better at telling deer from people.

I know that, and it's beside the point. Besides, as deers are about the only animal commonly hunted that can reasonably be confused with humans by size and such, that's actually a demerit...

It's odd that a man who was Secretary of Defence for the world's most powerful army can shoot another man in the face with a shotgun and not kill him.

Do you expect the state to press charges of firearm misuse against him? He will get out of this, but will it take a pardon or just powerful lawyering?

I dunno about Finland's military, but in ours they teach you how to shoot. Had Cheney ever served, who knows what woulda happened.

Ours too, but then he was mainly talking about hand-to-hand combat (bit of a martial arts nut).

However, our hunter population is something like 99% male and has hence underwent the same marksmanship training, and they manage to hit each other often enough too.

Actually, he was a very good journalist; if you can get ahold of "The Great Shark Hunt", it has some of his non-feral writings. Read "A Southern City with Northern Problems" and you will see his connection to journalism.

Also, he didn't **** around. And Woodward and Bernstien irritate me, for some reason. (Not for what they did- they sure did a good job of tearing those rotten bastards down- but just their whole "intrepid crusader" attitude. Plus, it seems like you are supposed to like them if you are an aspiring journalist, and I really don't.)
