    Just pointing out that they weren't invincible.
    Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.

    And I'm not saying they are. They just never ran away. I hope they implement a surrender feature in Medieval 2. To bad there are no Spartans.

    They didn't?

    Anyway, the Spartans did rout on occasions, and as a punishment the survivors had to shave off half their beards (as a mark of cowardice) and every Spartan citizen was hencefort allowed to beat them up in the streets.

    Still better than being a Helot. Spartans could just kill a few whenever they wanted.
