No, yes, yes.
No, yes, yes.
History is for the future not the past. The dead don't read.

Does the pope live in France?![]()
"It is an error to divide people into the living and the dead: there are people who are dead-alive, and people who are alive_alive. The dead-alive also write, walk, speak, atc. But they make no mistakes; only machines make no mistakes, and they produce only dead things. The alive-alive are constantly in error, in search, in questions, in torment." - Yevgeny Zamyatin

Actually, I believe that was a reference to the Avingon Papacy, at which point the Avingon pope declared the Rome papacy null and void, which technically means that the pope lived in France... but then again, at the same time, the Italian Cardinals elected their own pope in Rome and declared the Avingon papacy null and void, which means the pope didn't live in France... so...Originally Posted by antiochus epiphanes

Ah but the statement is 'Does the pope live in France' which implies the present. He did live in Germany but now lives in Italy...maybe its the Romani..hang on there already in it. Maybe some new historical data has been brought to light by the EB team, the startling discovery of a 2000 year old Fiat 126... EB proudly presents its new faction 'The Azuri'
Their major tactic is racing round and round (in a Cantabrian circle style) beeping horns, waving flags and gesturing wildly
I'll get my coat
Give the man a cigar!Actually, I believe that was a reference to the Avingon Papacy, at which point the Avingon pope declared the Rome papacy null and void, which technically means that the pope lived in France... but then again, at the same time, the Italian Cardinals elected their own pope in Rome and declared the Avingon papacy null and void, which means the pope didn't live in France... so
I had to use the present tence, because 'Did the Pope ever live in France?' would be obvious. 'Does the Pope live in France,' implies maybe, cause one did, but doesn't currently. That's not realy legitimate logic obviously, but hey![]()
