    DA:

Best idea I've heard in a long time.

Pray CA reads this and agrees...

They already decided to do so:

This could potentially be an absolutely fantastic addition to the game, however it could also be a certified donkey and ruin it once you reach the requirements.

Personally, as man have said, I would hope that establishing colonies in the new world do take up a hell of alot of resources and seriously forfeit your European efforts, possibly even putting you under a slight threat but certainly slowing down any idea's of expansion. Once you unlock the riches though and you profit greatly from it, I wouldn't mind been able to shoot back onto the scene as long as it seriously handicaps me when setting my colonies up, if it doesn't and I can still breeze my way across Europe whilst establising colonies I will feel extremely cheated and will loath playing in the late era.

It all depends how they work it.

I think it was a bad idea from CA to include America, but anyway American teritory should appear like Marius....in our case around 1492-1493 when America was discovered...until then the map should be like in RTW....Europe and easly extended to the east to include the vast steppes in wich the mongols lived

    You know....

One positive of this whole thing is the warfare used in America. Pretty much gunpowder for the most part. This gives me hope when I hear of "gun-toting professional armies", that perhaps they may indeed be so. I was initially desirous of A Napoleon Total War or something similar, but this may be a good second best.

I really hope this works. I jsut wonder how CA will do this seeming you would expect it more as exspansion pack material.
