Default More Iraqi Abuse Photos Aired on TV

Anger at new Iraq abuse photos

THE United Nations has described as "deeply disturbing" images aired on Australian television last night of prisoners being abused by US soldiers in Iraq.

The US Government has confirmed the authenticity of the pictures, shown on SBS's Dateline last night, and said the pictures could endanger its troops in Iraq and inflame current tensions between the Islamic world and the West.

Have you sent in your Holocaust cartoon to the Iranian paper yet, Dave?

Are the sources bringing up these "old news" Arabic ?
Al Jazeera and Al Aribiya(sp?) are the only 2 networks listed as reporting this besides the Australian news outlet if you watch the video link.

Similar logic to what French and Norwegian papers did after the notorious charicatures published in Danish paper.

I suppose you could try to draw that relationship, but I'm not really interested in discussing it- my only point was that there is clearly alot of anger in the Muslim world, mainly directed at these comics. I think it's very likely that some of those who are fanning the flames of violence would like nothing better than to direct a healthy portion of this anger towards the US, even though we had nothing to do with the comics. I think stories like this can be used as a tool to do it, even though it's old news it's being presented as new revelations.

Maybe not, it's just my hunch- make of it what you will.
