Default Battle at the edge of the Universe

I was just wondering if anyone has tried this. What if you (in RTW) move an army right to the edge of the map and have a battle? Is there any weird cutoff or not? I tried moving an army there, but I couldn't coax an AI army over.

I can kinda assume that it'd be nothing special... but I'm so curious about this.

Why don't you set up a new custom battle in custom_locations.txt and put the coordinates as 1,1?

Ahhh, I knew there had to be a simple way of doing it. Time to finally ease my mind...

Ah, it seems it's just a kind of line of relatively high dunes. The cutoff is visible, however. Especially if you look down along the edge of the world. Might try a battle in the top-right corner of the map now, as I'd imagine the ground is flatter there.

Sorry to pester, but just how large is the map in Rome: Total War, that is the one that the coordinates in custom_locations references? I looked at the coordinates of known places like the British Grassland on them, but none seemed to match.
