Im going to be adding the poem "Invictus" to my signature soon as my new favorite bit of poetry.

This movie was beautifully done and very very classy. Morgan freeman was an absolute god and Matt damon did a fantastic job as well. Props to Clint eastwood for a fantastic job as well. Just an undeniably enjoyable movie.

I didnt even especially like mandela before this movie but i have decided to read his auto biography mostly as recognition of all the man accomplished.
I've got to be honest, the movie doesn't interest me, but the last verse of the poem is pure class

I have to admit I really enjoyed that one, maybe because it wasn't your stereotypical "princess finds happiness in the end" fluff.

Found something cool on PSN, 'Shoot', series of free short art-house movies. Well worth watching, can't wait for the upcomming art-house service. Could be good, but because it's Sony IT WILL CHANGE HOW THINK OF [whatever] FOREVER, as usual. Here's to hope.

Yeah pretty good. I'd say a solid 8/10. A nice feel good movie, which stays true to the premise. Some memorable and enjoyable scenes. The dialogue is often kitsch, but enjoyable enough. Seeing the 3D would have been more impressive, but, still 2D had a nice overall feel. Yes. A good movie, not a classic, but a keeper nonetheless.

Ip Man 2: To be honest, I found this movie a huge disappointment. It was missing the depth of character that the first one did so beautifully. The fight scenes looked like they were from a Jackie Chan movie a lot of times.
I understand that they wanted to highlight the tensions between Britain and the Chinese, but they went waaay overboard. The way that the portrayed the British was absurd. (this is coming from someone who is no fan of our little island neighbors too. ) The way that they had the boxer act esp was ridiculous. He growled like an animal, behaved like a beast, and randomly brutalized people. I understand that the Chinese suffered a lot at the hands of the British, and there is nothing wrong with showing how one-sided things were, but as I said, they overdid it to the point where you could not even take the movie seriously.
I will give it a B- rating, and that is being generous.

The A-Team: Personally, I give it a solid 8/10. It'll be especially enjoyable for anyone who, like myself, watched the TV series when they were younger; however, it's still a fun action flick in its own right as well. So long as you remember that (to paraphrase Jessica Biel's character) they "specialize in the ridiculous", a good time will be had by all.

The whole movie is basically just zany, whacky fun. The filmmakers are clearly fans, with plenty of shout-outs to the original series (including cameos by Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict). The characters are true to the originals without being stale, the action sequences are wonderfully absurd, it's well-paced, and boasts good-natured humor throughout. A must-see for anyone who enjoys action flicks, and definitely for anyone who was a fan of the TV show.

I concur with Psychonaut about there being some kitschy lines, but it's still definitely a classic. I too had a lump in my throat in numerous scenes, especially towards the end; the finale is definitely bittersweet (although far more sweet than bitter, happily). A surprisingly touching film (well, maybe not so surprising considering it's Pixar), and a great way to close out the series. 9/10 for me.

Couldn't bear to see A Team. Liam Neeson is just collecting paychecks these days.

Saw Der Weisse Band, incredibly slow-moving observation of pre WW1 Prussian village life. 10 years ago I would've walked out (to spare the other veiwers my snores) but I found it spellbinding.

The fact it is set in 1913/1914 gives the whole story a Titanic-esque futility: everything happens in the shadow of the coming storm that will utterly destroy their society. The camera work is bleached B&W (which helps with the period flavour) and generally static, which is merciless on the actors. There was not a bum note in the thing, the story was told to marvellous effect.

I'll take my nephew to TS3 now, I was put off by early "critical" reviews but I prefer to hear from real people.

Recently saw The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

Some of the character building scenes were, to be blunt, boring, but what they build up to is worth it. I was impressed that the film managed to keep me guessing; when I started watching I was expecting the film to be somewhat predictable, but even to the very last minute I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to end.

Took my nieces to see Shrek Forever today. Not bad for a kiddie movie, loved the 3D. I'm looking forward to one that was previewed and is coming out soon in July, I believe the name is The Last Airbender.

I really want to see the Last Airbender as well. Loved the series, only hope it lives up.

    Forgot to post this:

Knight and Day. really good movie, though somewhat predictable plot after about the mid-way mark. pretty funny, but with a good mix of action and awesomeness. i really liked it at least.

Well they are regular people after all... just living in different circumstances.

Anyways I recently watched Shutter Island for the second time around and now I can notice all the little quirks that I obviously didn't catch the first time or didn't think nothing of em. Good movie all around imo and recommended. Gonna see Inception since I hear it's in the same vien.

it was very good, intense, touching and an all-around good movie, even if somewhat very historically inaccurate.

I watched Law Abiding Citizen. What a meek ending.

Saw ...And Justice For All. A much better ending, and a much better indictment of America's justice system.

Also, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. That was quite entertaining.

Saw Crazy Heart recently as well. Pretty good, with a great performance from Jeff Bridges.

Apparently The Last Airbender is a terrible movie, and the only entertainment to come of it is this funny review by Charlie Anders:
NOTE: Some NSFW words. And spoilers.
    M. Night Shyamalan Finally Made A Comedy

You giggled at The Happening. You snorted at The Village. But now, for the first time ever, former indie auteur M. Night Shyamalan has set out to make a gonzo comedy on purpose, with The Last Airbender. Spoilers ahead!

    M. Night Shyamalan has always been fascinated by playing with genre conventions. His famed love of twist endings is really an obsession with tweaking his audience's expectations, and his best film, Unbreakable, is a superhero movie that comments on the superhero genre. It was inevitable that he would slide into full-on genre pastiche.

And The Last Airbender is a lavish parody of big-budget fantasy epics. It's got everything: the personality-free hero, the nonsensical plot twists, the CG clutter, the bland romance, the new-age pablum. No expense is spared — Shyamalan even makes sure to make fun of distractingly ****** 3-D, by featuring it in his movie.

Wait a tic. Aasif Mandvi is in the movie? AASIF MANDVI? In a major, important, serious role?

On a related note, The Last Airbender is still hovering at around 8% at Rotten tomatoes. I know reviews aren't end all, be all, but that's really low.
