    Post Salutant Rome TW World

    Hi Rome TW World,

This is my first hello. I've had Rome TW Gold Edition on my hard drive for less than a week now, but I'm hugely impresssed thus far.

This is my first experience with Total War, Rome or otherwise, but I have played other grand strategy games; Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, War in the Pacific etc. Not that I would presume to inflict personal comparisons in a first post

Just as a side note, my actual name is Mark Bruty. So you can probably guess which faction I'm playing my first campaign as?

    Yep, the Julii

Welcome to the ORG . Enjoy the game, I was in a situation like you when I started playing RTW, it being my first Total War game, and so I had a great time. It's probably my favorite game ever (with Neverwinter Nights) .

Very nice choice. EU 2 is in my favourite game triad (TW - EU 2 - Close Combat) and the two other are also great.

    Welcome and enjoy!

    welcome to the forums
I must confess, the first time I fired up the game, and saw a faction called the"brutii", I wondered if part of the game loading program had "borrowed" some information from Windows setup in order to personalise it.

A quick delve into the game manual soon put to rest that theory. I just have to accept that I'm named after one of the great families of Rome!

Thank you for all the notes of welcome.

    Welcome

Enjoy...the time you are spending right now with TW is some of the best times you'll have with it...well not the BEST, but they're great times. You're just discovering the game, it's intricacies and the community. Enjoy and have a lot of fun. Trust me, if you are feeling "hooked" in just a week, you will be around for a long time. I've been doing this thing we call "total war" on and off (mostly on) for 3 years now heh.

    Hope to see you around
