    Default Faction victory conditions:

Since every faction have some heafty victory conditions like the Armenians should take all of Greece, Asia Minor and the middle East except Arabia to win. What did you base that decision upon? Sphere of influence, historical facts or just pure fantasy? Same thing with most "small" factions so I´m not simply arguing the Armenian conditions but all of them with this thread.

Playing Romani I accept that their victory conditions should be very specified like "take theese cities" (list of actual Roman territories) but that the Casse should be like - unite Brittish Isles and take a total of 20 provinces. Pontos could be more like "liberate Asia Minor" and accuire 100.000 mnai, KH could be "liberate all old Greek colonies", Karth should be requred to gain a huge amount of money in their treasury and maybee certain infrastructure like highest level of farming and trading in certain provinces etc etc.

While the victory conditions you described are certainly good ... the thing is, the player (or the AI for that matter) could accomplish them fairly easily.

With such complex victory conditions (as they currently are in EB), it is less likely that such an event will occur. I played with Pontos some, and managed to more-or-less unite Asia Minor by 200 BC with some luck.

The more complex victory conditions are likely to keep you busy all the way to game's end, and also prevent the AI from scoring an easy victory in the campaign.

Yes, that's really the point. For most of our factions, we don't have vast tracts of land and populations as large as the later Roman Empire historically having come under their suzerainty, so we have to make do with a set of conquests that one can reasonably imagine them controlling had they taken up the mantle of expansionism beyond their historical extants. So, the Roman victory conditions are based on the extent of the empire in 14 AD, and the Gallic conditions represent the extent of their largest area of control and influence, but the others require more work. Baktria for example, requires some conquests in the North, just about everything South of their position, and Iran - which was decided on because historically they had enemies in the North, and at various times controlled large parts of Western Iran and all of North-Western India.

But they make no mistakes; only machines make no mistakes, and they produce only dead things. The alive-alive are constantly in error, in search, in questions, in torment." - Yevgeny Zamyatin

The Sauromatae have to conquer the steppe, as well as raid nearby cities they or the Scythians historically did.

However easy, or not, a player can win, by any conditions, I still belive that a more diverse set of conditions could be applied to inspire the RP-players to follow a certain path, culture or historical direction. This could be done by applying them to the victory conditions and the scripting could be furthermore enhanced along theese lines. A non-RP player doesn´t have to activate the script right?!

If you don't activate the script, you're not playing Europa Barbarorum.

I don't really understand what conditions you'd like to see, though. Our conditions come from our historians and advisors trying to extrapolate and determine what that faction would have considered a great accomplishment--usually what they failed to achieve in history. There's a lot of different things that could be required for victory, but each faction needs to be looked at individually to see if there are any problems with the current victory conditions. We can get pretty specific with these, like a list of provinces, level of development of certain cities, treasury, peace with a certain faction or all factions, etc.

Ah! the Generals! they are numerous, but not good for much (especially if they're Languorous)!
