    Default German Rock

Our own Kaiser of Arabia, let me in on a little secret. German rock. Here is a taste of some of the bands Rammstein, Megaherz, Oomph, Eisbrecher, and Kraftwerk

Kraftwerk is the least rock band I can think of.

Kraftwerk is one of the most important bands ever. Just as influencial as the Beatles IMO. Without them, no electronic elements in music.

I really dislike Rammstein though. I don't know, I just don't enjoy anything about them.

Gah? While their last album isn`t any good, all their previous albums are most enjoyable.

Ah well... I guess it`s a matter of taste.

What, because Rammstein played a cover of Das Modell (which was originally written after Kraftwerk had turned techno-pop) on an EP? I'm familiar with all of these bands (hilariously, the ones linked from http://herzeleid.com) and none have any audible Kraftwerk influence.

Metal is a whole other bag of worms, but no more true than the rock bands listed above.

Rammstein has admitted that Kraftwerk is one of their main influences, as has Oomph.

Whats hilarious about herzeleid? I'm most hated member of their forums (voted!)

LOL, I guess you shouldn't have gone to all those Modern Talking concerts.

But he IS extremely popular there. I think the Germans can't tell the difference, or maybe they are not paying enough attention.

They are not quite German, the band was started in Paris, by two Germans, but later moved to america and has had an international membership(sort of). The name is German though, that's something to be happy about.

    Yeah I love them too.

Actually, the older brother of Chuck Schuldiner (of Death) played guitar for the Scorpions. Rock you like a Hurricaaaane.

Knorkator is a German Industrial Rock whose music I rather enjoy. They don't take themselves too seriously, which is a nice change.
