Co-owner of video store in Brentwood found murdered


Play the video (12/28/05) BRENTWOOD - The co-owner of a Brentwood video store was found murdered in his office Wednesday.

Police say the other co-owner of Pine Hollow Video Store on Second Avenue opened his shop Wednesday morning to find the body of 55-year-old William Kern lying in a pool of blood. Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy before releasing the cause of death. Kern had been the owner of the video store for 20 years.

Investigators are searching for suspects and motives, and they believe the murderer may have escaped in Kern’s 1994 Gray Honda Accord. The car has a rusted top and New York plates numbered CCS8061. Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS
The outrage is hes my brother. The SOBs put a bag over his head and beat him to death. There was never a kinder more gentle soul on the face of the planet. This is the gay brother I have mentioned here many times. I ask those of you who are religous to offer a prayer for him
