I'm open to learning how to create unit sprites. I don't know how at the moment, but I'm generally quick with image editing, etc.

    I can also edit descriptions/texts.

I'm also messing around with animations. I'm used to making small mods myself, so I'm passable with a broad range of skills rather than really good at any one thing.

I was unhappy with the current gladius/scutum animation. Holding the shield out like that would kill your arms. This is a WIP.

EDIT: Old animation is below, my new one is above.

That's a pretty cool looking animation. Could you post the old one? I'm curious to see the difference.

    Scroll up!

It's at a slightly different angle so you can see how far the shield is away from his body. In mine, he holds it no more than six inches from his shin (except at full rotating during the strike).

The old animation also has him swinging his arm WAY out there during a stab. He also exposes himself by wildly swinging his shield. Mine aims to be direct and to the point, no fancy swings or unecessary gaps in protection.

Very nice - the comparison really helps! Yours definitely looks more realistic and controlled.

(I see a PM from the EB Graphics folks in your future)

    Dear aevionknight,

Your example is perfectly correct both in defensive nature and assault. Well done.

I would like to offer my help to this formidable mod! I lack experience in the actual modding business but would like to contribute with my knowledge to the description work. I would be most helpful doing research on old Scandinavian/Norse names for Eleuthoroi settlements, buildings and units in that region (as I am of Swedish descent) if this hasn't already been addressed, but can of course help with anything you need. Command and I will obey!

Yours truly, and with outmost respect, Pius.

Thanks for volunteering! There isn't a faction for that area, but if you could come up with some information covering our time frame (272 BC to 14 AD), that might be helpful. In particular, these items:

    1) Information on the tribes and peoples (and what they were known for). This could be used to create a Sweboz "ethnic" trait (for a family member who comes from the Northlands) or even an Ancillary.

    2) Natural Wonders. Anything which had known religious significance or is such a marvel of beauty or power that the ancients would surely have told stories about it. Extra Points if these stories have come down to us in any way, either as rock carvings (or being surrounded by such) or pre-norse sagas (these can be iffy as they are well beyond our time frame).
