I'd like to discuss the particulars of this game here, being which scenario to play (probably '36), who will control whom, whether or not faction switching is allowed, and how many players we'd like to have before hitting the switch.

1) GoreBag
2) (empty)
3) Eternal Champion
4) Discovery1 - Nationalist China
5) Dutch_Guy
6) SFTS
7) RussianCsar
8) [DnC] - Romania
9) (empty)
10) (empty)

Floaters: (none)
Withdrawals: JimBob; GelatinousCube; UglyAndHasty; Duke Malcolm; King Ragnar

Version 1.3a it is. Also, we'll be using the Sino-Japanese war event fixes, which is found at this location.

Password is 'org'.

Nationalist China. There are problems with the events surrounding the Sino-Japanese war though. Fix is here

Yeah, 1.3. Unless we decide to go ahead with Disco's suggested Sino-Japanese fix.

This is the place to do so.

That works with 1.3. It fixes events added in 1.3.

Reply
discovery1 07:11 02-28-2006
Pretty sure it's compatible with all of them. All it does is over write a few events

GoreBag 07:11 02-28-2006
Well, the latest one is 1.3a. Where is this 1.3b you speak of?

I might consider joining up, as I was one of the people who wanted to start a MP game up in the other thread. However I haven't played the game in a while and although I knew my way around the game when I played it every chance I got, I might have forgotten even the most basic things of the game...

Also, when would you guys consider running the MP game, I ask because I'm not able to play the next 3-4 days because I'm currently without my PC.

Well anyway hope this works out and I'll let you know if I'm in or not GoreBag

I'd like to play, but as a few others have said; when exactly?

If I can, I'd like to be Romania.

Duke Malcolm 20:59 02-28-2006
I would quite like to give it a bash as Great Britain, If it's not too much trouble please.

JimBob 21:04 02-28-2006
I'd like to, and has been said before "when exactly", if there are no massive conflicts I'd give it a go as Republican Spain.

We seem to have a good amount of players in the same general part of the world, this is good. My "play time" is in the evenings during the week or on the weekends preferably in the mornings. If there is a large difference in time zones then weekends are best as most can accommodate those days some way (morning for some, evening for others).

It's best to stick with the latest official patch to accommodate the most folks. 1.3b isn't exactly "official" and must be installed manually after extracting a .rar file. For this reason I vote for 1.3a and the fact if we have a full boat with all majors being played by humans AI enhancements really don't matter.

MP campaigns are huge investments in time, think about this especially if you want to play a major.

I have no preference except I'd rather not play Germany. I'd like to play Canada unless a major needs to be filled then I'll jump in.

I will try to play, but time zones may be a major problem with some of you US guys, plus im a total noob lol but i can only learn :D

I would perfer that we start after March 8, which is when mid terms end, although I could devote a few hours Saturday, or Friday night.

I've got a good common household rule even though I won't be participating. No Unholy Alliances.

This means that major factions such as the USSR, GERMANY, GREAT BRITAIN, JAPAN, ITALY, China, and the USA cannot deviate from what their original alliances were. Especially if the US or USSR decide to join Germany.

China? China was in bed with Germany for a while. They definetly shouldn't be forced into joining the Allies.

Well, the coded events will dictate how most major factions will react, except the USA, really. The minor factions, I think, should have more leeway for forming alliances - we'll all need to pick sides eventually.

Going after Disco's suggestion, the 8th is next Wednesday, which gives us all enough time to prepare and make plans with one another as well as getting the other chores we're all obligated to do out of the way.

Are there any objections for beginning the game on the 8th?

I'll jot down everyone else who said they were interested. If there's overflow, I'll make a waiting list. I guess most people are like me in that they're not sure which faction they'll use - no one seems to want to be the behemoths. I'm happy this has found so much support. Let's keep the discussion rolling.

The 8th is good for me, as long as we start at about 1500 Dutch time ( GMT + 1 ).
The weekend following the 8th will probably also work for me.

Well I can't play at 15.00 hours (GMT+1) because I work till 16.30.
18.30+ would be best for me.

I cannot make the 8th, I have the gym those evenings. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are out for me, as are Saturday nights.

That would be your time yes, not GMT? That makes it 11:30 am here. That's no good for me. Have class until 14:00 hrs local time, so 20:00 GMT.

Eternal Champion 23:36 03-01-2006
Oh, now the fun begins.

Weekdays I work and am not available until after 19:00 GMT -5. On weekends I could make most anytime work except really late on Sunday evenings (after 23.00 my time).

I still say accommodating the largest number of people is on the weekends. That's what clans do when they try and get the whole clan together. Some guys will be in the morning, some at night, and a few will be really late and others really early.

The biggest reason for USA and SU not to join together is so the game can continue if Axis goes down. Then the cold war goes hot can kick in.

Weekdays seem like too much of a problem, I can't before about 5:00 CST (GMT-6), weekends seem to be the best. Saturdays and parts of Sundays.

Reply
GoreBag 01:41 03-02-2006
Alright. Unless there are any other objections, weekends it is.

Is everyone available next weekend ( meaning the 11th and 12th)?

11th and 12th is fine with me, although on the 12th I might be out jogging for a while (2-3 hours gone) with my brother-in-law.

I'm good except for several hours in the evening (GMT-5) on the 11th.

11th and 12th work well for me, except a sliver of time on the 12th 1-2 hours in the early afternoon (GMT-6).
