    Default Issue with assigning titles

    While modding names for METW I found interesting issue:

    When a title is assigned for a governor, the new name is displayed as

    Lord SURNAME for standart MTW and

    Lord FORENAME for Viking invasion.

    So, if your name is William Wallace, your new name as governor will be

    Lord Wallace in MTW and Lord William in Viking invasion.

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    And now the problem: In METW, we have a lot of names such as Balin son of Fundin, or Imrahil of Pelargir, SOMEBODY the Wise etc..... But the game assign titles to surenames, creating names as: Lord son of Fundin, Lord Mariner, Lord the Wise... etc. Do not anybody know solution to this problem? Does the game assign titles to surnames by default (and there is a hardcode for VI), or is it moddable?

    I know for one thing that the names themselves are modable in the loc files. Its no the ideal answer but you could take out all the "the wise"s if all else fails.

    First option is to switch them around. It wouldn't hurt to read "the Gray Gandalf" or "of Isengard, Blekblug." You may put a comma after last names just like on some official forms - last name, first name.

    Another option is to use the same 'forename' so when they're assigned title they don't look weird. The hard part is figuring out that same 'forename' lol. Well, you know, you can try translate anything to blank though I haven't tested this myself.

    Forenames:
    ["Blank"]
    {""}

    Surnames:
    ["Revenant"]
    {"Revenant"}

    ["NodachiSam"]
    {"NodachiSam"}

    When "blank Revenant" and "blankNodachiSam" are assigned titles they would look like "Lord Revenant" and "Lord NodachiSam."

    Good Luck.

    You have a good head ontop your shoulders Weebeast :)

    From the sounds of it your idea could do the trick.

    I do what I can.

    So OK, let me clarify something about the 'blank-forename' trick. It works as I just tested it myself five mins ago.

    However, the trick might not be best for you because rulers (princes too) use forename while in power. Ex: Pope Urban II. Of course you wouldn't wanna have Pope ____ II when playing a campaign. SO this 'blank-forename' trick isn't the best option. So forget this one.

    Now I just found out that Golden Horde doesn't have a list of surnames. Then I started to remember that a mongol general will always have the same name whether he has a title or not. I terminated the french surename list and localised a new forename. Then I changed the "forename" of one of french heroes that come out in the beginning ("Baldwin" to "Weebeast the Infidel") so that I don't have to wait. I just left the surename column blank. I don't think you need to localise "blank" unless you use heroes like I did. I terminated the surname list after all.

    Anyway, see screenshot. Ignore the "sir" because heroes will have that.

    So the best logical trick to deal with this problem is to not to use surname list for your factions. You can have as many characters as you want. Just localise it. Well, I guess there's limit but you get my point.

    Thanks, I know about this solution:)

    I just hoped somebody know how to use both surname and forename and assign title to forename as Viking Invasion do.

    But thanks for help anyway:)
