Default Ancient wonders of the EB-world:

Last night I fought a series of battles against the Ptolemies at the base of the Giza pyramids and the Sphinx. It was absolutely outstanding! Thanks team for that goodie. The pyramids are located one tile west of Memphis.

Q: Has anyone got the exact location for the other wonders?
Q: Are there other "special buildings/ monuments" represented on the battlemaps. If so what and where?

BTW, I pressed "print screen" to keep a memory of theese battles but then I found that the pics in the folder was... err black. How do I take in-game pictures in RTW?

An easy way to make screenshots of RTW is to use programs like Fraps.

Last night I played a battle with the casse and some rebels and there were standing stones on an edge of the battlefield (still reachable though). I'm not sure if these were in vanilla (but they were not that standing stones monument in the starting city of the csse).

I find that the print screen thing works ok if you turn anti-aliasing off. I was getting black screens at first. I was also suffering with low fps during the battles so I turned AA off. Then when I took screenshots they worked. i.e they showed up in the TGAs folder.
I don't really notice much difference in the quality of the graphics either between having it on or off so its no problem for me.

Anyway, if you don't like it without AA I think a work around is that you can press Print Scrn then alt-tab back to desktop and paste it into a program like paint. Then save it. That's just what I've heard; I've not tried it myself.

Thanks for the info on the Pyramids. I shall look forward to invading Egypt with that in mind. I'll keep an eye out for other wonders too.

    Cheers,
    Stu.

If you look in the custom battle maps, you'll see a whole host of wonders. I fought a battle around the temple of the Pythia at Delphi! Plus there's Abu Simbel in Egypt, the Temple of Artemis, the Temple of Zeus at Olympia, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, and a number of others.

    Excellent!

So how about their locations on the actual strategy map?

Will the wonders be removed at the correct time? (I know Rhodes' Colossus lasted for less than a century. Would that be removed from the map or would it be there still? Not destroyed in EB's alternate reality)

    Thanks beforehand.

Those wonders are also available for custom battles. Located at the bottom of the custom map list.

No, what's there is there for good. We can't make custom tiles dynamic unfortunately.

I do hope so. Wouldn´t it be great if more of those indigenous EB buildings that you find in so many provinces showed up on the battlefield?! Keep `em comin´ EP!

We have never been able to get anyone to make a single building for us for the battle map that has actually been taken to the point that it was able to be put into the game. Motivated guys seem to do it for the medieval period mods and asian ones and fantasy ones, but I don't know of a roman-era one where any new battle map buildings have been introduced. We can't even get anyone to make us new vegetation - and when we do they leave. It's quite pathetic and irritating, but that's the truth of the matter. The best thing we can do is use the wonderful resource icons that alin has made for us for our next build.

This does not count the enormous tea-pot that I think eadginas put into the game at one point to have a goofy screenshot in a thread here at the org.

I think that was Vercingetorix actually. The teapot is a standard object in 3dsMax (for reasons best known to them) so it wouldn't have been too difficult to make.
