My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Atheists hold a firm belief in the absolute absence of God, which cannot be proven. Thus, they must have faith in their disbelief. It's all perfectly rational.![]()

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder

I voted atheist. I think about the lack of existance of god all the time and meet up with fellow atheists every sunday for a series of rituals based on our belief that god does not exist![]()
That is incorrect, if you never had any idea of the existence of God you would not need to to have faith in your disbelief. Some people are raised atheist therefore always regard God as something they don't care about, like Santa. Now if the knowledge of the existence of God was biologically inherent, then you would have a point, otherwise you are standing on a huge phallacy.Originally Posted by Crazed Rabbit

Baptized and attending Episcopalian, which may or may not qualify as Christian, depending on how long your fundamentalist beard has grown. Definitely not a Christian in Nav's book.
We're weird. We let our priests marry. And we let women become priests. And they even elected an openly gay episcopal Bishop, which must make all of the closeted gay priests in the other Christian sects green with envy.
Face it, Episcopalians rock the house.
