Trying to look better doesn't make you shallow. Everyone tries to do it. It's no different then wearing makeup or nice clothes. On the other hand I think very few if any women need a boob job.

If he works out for appearance instead of for healthiness, IMO yes. I've done that and am not afraid to admit it was low self-esteem that did it. Now I only workout for the sake of good health , plus some exercise (especially running) releases the same substances in your brain that are released by drugs, only with running you don't get the side-effects

IIRC men can get breast implants too. They're slab-shaped things that make it look like you've got big muscles on your chest. It's a short-cut for those who can't be bothered with the real work.

So yes, working out is not quite the same as getting implants. I'd compare it to the suggestion this girl eat a bit more so the excess fills her out a bit.

ive seen men with chest, calf, butt, shoulder and forearm implants, besides the usual face work. remember kids, there will always be scars; just because magazines airbrush out all the nip/tuck lines doesn't mean they aren't there.

It's very difficult to convince yourself to do anything if you're completely satisfied and in inner harmony. Some lack of self-esteem and fear is needed in order to not be entirely passive and apatic, while too much lack of self-esteem and too much fear makes you hyperactive in a way that gives you panic, uncertainty and makes you do not very thought-through things. Where to draw the line between bad cases of low self-esteem and ok cases of low self-esteem is up to the observer. I personally think that if you're ready to sacrifice your health for what other people might think of you, like with silicon or too extreme workout (with anabolic steroid preparates), it's a case of too heavy lack of self-esteem. Workout for the sake of what others might think can also be exaggerated lack of self-esteem, but isn't necessarily. I believe the person doing the exercise is the only one who can judge whether he's doing it due to lack of self-esteem or because he has calmly analysed the situation and realized that it'll indeed cause an improvement in life quality that isn't cancelled out by the negative effects it might have.

I agree, that's why I don't like people dismissing this girl as having low self-esteem based on a weblog. We don't know.

She is 5'8", 112lbs, so she just has a tall, thin body style. Doesn't look like anything is wrong with her, aside from the low self-esteem. IMO, if she wants bigger breasts, she should get them the natural way, by getting knocked up. That would give her more curves, all around, and it wouldn't look as freaky as falsies will.
