    Default 1st July 2006?

Seriously? Wouldn't be better to wait for a half a year?

I don't want to sound cynical, but RTW when it was released was full of bugs - seemed like beta version.

They may indeed have outdone themselves, but I wouldn't attach too much significance to release dates personally, especially in places like Amazon. Half of the time they seem to allocate release dates completely at random in my experience, especially for videogames. Just look at the 20 or so release dates that have been optimistically tagged onto the infamous Duke Nukem Forever, and still no sign of it.

I think its more likely that the Alexander expansion will be released on the 1st July.

MTW2 is far more likely to be released around Christmas.

Is an Alexander mini campaign seriously going to interest anyone? People here are looking for RTW issues to be addressed not looking for more of the same

Lets be fair, they have been working on it since RTW so must have quite alot of work done, but I think July 1st is a bit hopeful of Amazon really.

Backend of August - December is the most likely scope of release for the game, we don't know where they are remember, they may well be balancing and tweaking now, they may be placing important features in, we just don't know and quite rightly so, its none of our business how far they are, only what they intend to do.

If it comes out on July 1st I'd be HEAVILY surprised.

Would be nice if it did come out then though. Less waiting time, however I don't mind waiting a few months if it will make the game better.

Play.com has it marked for 27/10/06 which seems much more realistic.

    I agree with Monarch.

July the 1st is way too soon, and why would you want to release an award winning game in July when you could also release it when it's Christmas
