What is his diagnosis?

I got 144 Visionary philospoher on the too-easy one and 133 on the Danish rose of the Prophet one, but I couldn't be bothered to think too much, so I had 20 minutes to spare.

I took this test and got 118, wich is high (with a dispersion of 15). The dispersion may vary so if you wanna compare the second test with the first you should use different models. In the second system (dispersion of 15) the maximum (Mensa level) is 140, so if you compare both tests almost everyone here is a genius. Seriously this second test is pretty difficult at the end of course.

Aren't real IQ tests timed? I seem to recall a televised IQ test some time ago, in which various groups of people (representative of particular societal classes) were tested. Audience members at home were invited to participate in the test. The amount of time given for each question was rather limited, and some of the questions were quite hard (compared with what's found on a Tickle test).

I participated in two of those. Both times I had between 140 and 145.
Both times I was stoned.
Imo these tests are complete bollocks. How do you want to measure intelligence?
What's intelligence? Ever heard of emotional intelligence? Well that's something that they don't test for example.
If a person trains those kinds of tests he will get better every time.
Does that mean that he gets more intelligent?

For what I know in psychology intelligence is measurable, or at least formalized, it's called G Factor. Beyond that, did you prove the second test (the one on the quote in my post above), it gives you 40 minutes to solve 38 exercises I believe, the last twenty can be real hard, or perhaps it's just my weak mind.

At times high intelligence can, just like great knowledge of the subejct, be a problem in the tests.

When you are used to dealing with problems that demand the best of you, and you are pretty intelligent, you can get very confused when you are asked something very simple (yet not too simple). You often end up thinking "is this some kind of trickquestion?" Seeking out various hidden clues or special connections between the options and so on. In the end most people will come to the conclusion it is not a trick, but time has been spent unwisely on something you should have skimmed past.
I have in fact failed an exam to this (my teacher finally told me not to overcomplicate things when he had looked at my results).

In any case tests like these are limited. They take into account geometric understanding, math and linguistics, but they lack to take into account many other aspects. I wouldn't say that musical and emotional intelligence can be measured in any other way than conversations or lengthy exposure, so I think it is unfair to demand this from a written test.

Btw, I got 135. Visual Math.
While it is getting to be a cliche here, that is actually pretty much what I have gotten previously. At 16 I got that exact number, got 137 a few years later, at the military tests the little board of people uttered a little 'wow' and nodded with smiles when they went over my record (though in the physical department they basically ignored me). I never got the test back, forgot to ask. Later still, a few years ago I took another that put me yet again in 135.

So I'm pretty certain that that is where I must be when it comes to these kind of things.

I think half the problem here is that people are very intelligent here, and as such these bogus tests only confirm people in what they already knew. "Hey I got the same as I got before. I'll tell my buddies." Then these buddies who are less intelligent will score almost similar levels, where the results are truly crap.

Fluctuating results over a lengthy period, especially growing up, are very much possible. If the intellect is not stimulated it can stagnate, and your percieved intelligence will drop. It can get up again though.
And I believe that all people have a certain intelligence-slack they can firm up with the proper stimuli. Think that 90 is the lowest possible score for person X while 125 is the highest possible, but in normal conditions he/she will get 110.
This is confirmed (for me) in the fact that in Japan they have an average intelligence of about 110, where the rest of us have it about 100 (logically). I don't think Japanese are more intelligent than the rest of the world, they are just better suited to these tests due to their schools and the stimuli they get.

Look at this way: IQ tests are supposed to measure your basic intelligence, right?
It has nothing to do with education, right?
So, you should be able to give these tests to anybody in the world and measure their quotients by it, right?
No, that's where these tests run into trouble. They are based on the assumption that those geometrical forms etc. have a meaning to us. In most cases they do but not always. A member of any aboriginal (sp) tribe, who hasn't had too much contact with civilisation, won't know what you want. You don't even need to go to extremes. There're many people who don't relate much with the test-exercises. There're others, who by education or practice relate a lot to them.
Just look at Lemur's post and try to explain the spread in the results.
Those tests are nice to have fun with, but shouldn't be taken too seriously.
Don't judge yourself by a number, that wouldn't be intelligent.
And look at those pathetic supposed elitist IQ clubs.

I normally take the Internet IQ tests quickly and score differently every time - the variance is a low of 127 and a high of 139.

Years ago I was my IQ was tested in school and the score was 129, taken in the 2nd Grade at age 8. Timed and structured test.

However IQ tests are meaningless, unless you have the common sense to apply your intelligence.
