Yet another Moderate Liberal Populist. Never really thought of myself as a populist, but apparently I am.

Moderate populist, leaning to the right according to the graph and other tests.
Moderate Populist . Who'da thunk it
It's a poor quiz and indicator of political intent. The questions are very tightly wrapped up in the current paradigms of US current affairs.

Can't be right.
Interesting but hardly a useful tool for those of us outside the US. Some strange categorisation of the results as well. I was not aware that healthcare and social security were simply economic issues, for example.

"The English are a strange people....They came here in the morning, looked at the wall, walked over it, killed the garrison and returned to breakfast. What can withstand them?"
The question that really bugged me was the one about "permitting" prayer in public school.
I am all for allowing students to practice their religions and pray all they want in school. However, I am dead set against forcing the entire class to bow their heads and say the Lord's Prayer in unison first thing in the morning.

I believe the question was about allowing "public prayer" in schools wasnt it? There's people that say that shouldnt be allowed since it could offend students who choose not to participate. I understand many schools in the US have taken this approach.Originally Posted by Goofball

Nope. The exact phrase was "Permit prayer in public schools."Originally Posted by Xiahou
As I said, very vague and annoying phraseology.
Allowing students to pray = Good
Forcing students to pray = Bad
If by "that" you mean the teacher saying "Okay, everybody, we are going to take two minutes to say the Lord's Prayer now. Those of you who don't want to can just sit quietly and do nothing," then I agree with those people. That shouldn't be allowed in public schools. It promotes one religion over another and is a waste of time for those who are atheistic or agnostic.Originally Posted by Xiahou
On the other hand, I believe it would be a great idea for public schools to have "quiet areas" set aside for students to use for private, personal prayer on their own time (i.e. lunch or recess). If a student practices a religion that requires prayer at certain times that conflicts with classroom teaching, they should be permitted to leave quietly to do what they have to do, but the onus should be on them to make sure they check with a classmate or a teacher later to see if their was any important material they missed.

DA your cosmo quiz is horrid. I'm a Moderate Liberal Populist, well the dots right under the O of the Moderate though, so right in the middle. This poll is a bit shallow and has no depth, according to this poll I support redistributing wealth. Not sure how it really judges everything, so few questions and so strangely linked.

A couple of notes here:
If you click on the issue itself before answering, it willtake yo a summary of what each view of "support" or "oppose" means. It is much more detailed if you click the individual issue linky.
And yes, it is clearly based on U.S. politics.
And just because you lean a little to the left does not mean you necessarily support redistribution of wealth. That's why the answer shows your place within the political spectrum.
This is a bit hard for an English person to do, as most are not our way of thinking, but ive done my best and the results for me, anyway, have come out as expected.
Ok ive just done the quiz and finding are as follows

Don't like this quiz... there is too much of a focus on current issues, not on overreaching issues. Plus, the categories look completely made up to me.
Let me find a better one I took once; it placed me much more accurately as well.
Edit: found it: http://www.politicalcompass.org/
I ended up on the extreme end of the left and libertarian axes.

Liberal, equally between libertarian and populist, but not far from moderate.
Some questions like "Allow prayer in schools" were not well worded. Does that mean I won't allow a student to give a prayer of thanks before eating? No. I took it to mean teacher-led.
Screw luxury; resist convenience.
I usually don't visit the backroom, but I thought I'd take this quiz, just out of curiosity.
Seems that I'm very 'leftie' in an American context... Oh well. I think over here I'm more "moderate" (being this far to the left on the spectrum in Belgium would categorize me as a communist, something I'm most definitively NOT)

Left Liberal no surprise.
I've done this test before I believe.

Well, if you happen to come back here again, remember that the American political spectrum is much more "right" than europe, so a lefty on this scale would probably be a "moderate" in Europe. As an example, if you look attrhe "british slant" test in the thread of the same name, you will find that I am waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to the righ of 99% of england. But yet I am a moderate libertarian conservative according to this American poll.Originally Posted by Tricky Lady
