Impressive. I though the ending was a bit too fast compared to the slow pace of the rest of the story, but otherwise it is very good.

I tried to build it that way: A very general introduction, slowly increasing the strain as he crosses the lines, then when the strain has reached its max there is the unpredictable turn and an abrupt end. you mean it has an ultimately optimistic theme? even a cold-blooded killer can sometimes be motivated to share lunch with an enemy instead of killing him.
