This is appalling. Someones head should roll because of this.
Just what did they think they were doing, pushing AND pulling a train? Seems as though safety was an afterthought for TV ratings.About 3,000 schoolchildren were at the recording and witnessed the accident.
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

How so? They expected that the train would be under control. TV networks do a lot of things these days, where people do 'dangerous' stuff that really isn't dangerous because of all kinds of safety mechanisms. Well, in this case those mechanisms were clearly not in place.Well, the TV company should have thought more carefully, but the contestants really should have done so too.

Also, I doubt many of them were considering the train to be unable to break. Many of them woudl likely have watched those strongman contests where they pull trucks around, this was just a bit bigger.
