When I was fighting the Greeks and Barbarians a Carthaginian general named Hamalcar Barca was looking for trouble in Italy. But I guess his government wouldn't allow him to attack Roman towns. So he was basically goin up and down all over Italy to have me attack him and start war. I was financially in a good shape but I wanted to secure my sea trade ports so I swallowed my pride and let him roam in Italy for I think 10 years. when I secured my east by conquering Illyrian coastal areas I thought that enough is enough. After I established sea trade ports and border security forces in Illyria I bribed that guy. He had 4 command stars and that's what I needed to have start war with Carthage. He accepted my offer of 150000 mnai and lead my armies against Lilleboi. After concentrating my armies in Sicily, one stack landed near Carthago, one in Adrumento, one in between them to reinforce either of them in case of emergency. One of my general hired mercenaries to secure bridges and mountain passes to slow down Carthaginian relief forces. The sieges took 2 turns and 2 of the greatest Carthage cities fell to Roman might. Barca got "vanquisher of Carthage" trait. And next he got a trait, something like "he likes to kill more". Barca was 45 years old. Romans didn't advance to other carthage cities until the new government was up and running. It took like 4 or 5 years to complete. And another young general from Roma stayed in Carthago to govern and Barca was back in business. He won every battle in North Africa and I got a message saying "He is named Imperator by troops and waiting for the Senate approval". I wasn't worried because he had 5 infuence scroll. Now Barca was 50 years old. Almost all of his troops were mercs and all Roman troops were depleted so stayed in towns to fight in extremely dire situations. Finally the Senate gave the permission to enter Roma, he was off to Roma. Because of the pirate ships he had to land in Sicily and another roman ship sacrificed itself near Karali to divert pirate ships. When the pirate ships attacked and sunk the roman fleet, Barca was able to sail to Roma. After he got the title in Roma he governed Carthago and stayed a while. Later he got a message saying "he feels boring to count money", "he refused to use public fund", "refused to living in a luxury house" traits. At this time another young Roman general was besieging Lepsi (sp) and he went there to lend a hand. But Carthage was sending more Iberian troops to North Africa to regain the lost regions. Barca was probably fighting too much and he got wounded and couldn't march like before any longer. Also he reached 60, he got trait something like "he has seen so many of his men die violently, he wake up in the middle of night screaming and crying. Lack of sleep causes him to perform poorly - management, -infuence, -movement point. Now he is an old man and falling apart. When he stays in a town 2 or more turns he wants to fight but if he wins he gets more sick and loses more troop moral. So I decided to let him die in battle like true warrior.
