The LockOn background "music". I thought it was a bug or my speakers stopped workin correctly when I heard it the first time.
My wife asking me "Are you just about done?" for the 5th time.

I actually hated the vanilla RTW music in the background. Annoyed me. And the sound of italian soldiers in Codename Panzers 2. Just awful.

I recently played SW:KOTOR, and the "box opening" and "body searching" sounds really got annoying after a while, especially after having to wait to get the items. Being new to CRPGs, I've just recently realized what this was all about. The items would not appear until the sound had completed playing, or until the box had fully opened. Cumulatively, this could add several minutes, even an hour on to total game time. Adding more "gameplay hours" is a good way to advertise your game.
"Never in physical action had I discovered the chilling satisfaction of words. Never in words had I experienced the hot darkness of action. Somewhere there must be a higher principle which reconciles art and action. That principle, it occurred to me, was death." -Yukio Mishima
Well, it would not be a CRPG without having to search crates. KOTOR was guilty of that, but to be honest the inventory management system in that game was rather nice, IMO. You could quickly cycle through all the potentially lootable objects in the area and carry as much as you wanted. I hate these "realistic" systems, where you have constraints on how much you can carry and dislike having to go pixel hunting to find the good stuff. The time and frustration spent on managing your inventory in those games (even the superlative ones like the BGs, FOs, MWs, JA2s etc) dwarf any time spent waiting in KOTOR for crates to open.Originally Posted by Kongamato
