It will be finally ported to 1.5 version. If everything will continue so good it is at the moment It will be earlier than MTW2

So RTW Gold is version 1.5?
I think I have heard something about a way to depatch the 1.5 to 1.2.
Am i wrong?

RTW Gold has BI/1.6 installed, so even after our move to 1.5 there will be a problem, and we don't know if we will ever move to BI.

I have not heard of this way to de-patch, if you will, but that doesn't mean it does not exist.

I was told that 1.6 only applies when you are playing BI, and that if you play the non-BI version of RTW Gold, that you are essentially playing 1.5. Is that incorrect? Do you load it up as two different games? I have no idea how it works, but there still may be hope that RTW Gold can play our 1.5 port. Someone smarter than me will have to fill us in on that though.

I'm no tech head but I suspect you are right and there will be no problem. As I understand it, the 1.6 patch does the same to vanilla RTW as the 1.5 patch; it differs only in also modifying the BI specific files.

I suspect the RTW Gold people just get the same as what the BI + RTW owners have, but just had the RTW parts already patched.

That's correct. If you've installed RTW Gold, it applies 1.5 to the vanilla RTW game and 1.6 to BI. So when you play BI, you're playing with the 1.6 patch, or if you're playing RTW, you're playing with the 1.5 patch.

Least, that's how I understand it. Yeah, I think it's the same as simply patching the game normally, just it already comes pre-patched.

The version numbers work like this:

1.0 RTW (out of the box)
1.1 RTW (first quick patch)
1.2 RTW (second bigger patch)
1.3 RTW (RTW after installation of BI - also separately downloadable)
1.4 BI (out of the box)
1.5 RTW (RTW after installation of BI 1.6 patch)
1.6 BI (first patch for BI)

It sounds like RTW Gold will be the latest version - that is RTW 1.5/BI 1.6. A 1.5 version of EB should be compatible with it.
