Just curious.
Just curious.
I love it, especially all the unique icons that came with it.
I believe the other ones are fiished to but the latest version couldn't be included because then we had to repack everything. Or something like that...Originally Posted by The_White_Knight
But don't worry cause they'll be in the next build.
They are much further along than they were and what you see in the current build - yeah. But I think it's best that we stop working on them any more for now. We haven't got our culture assignments set for the 1.5 port, so any more work on them might be messed up after we rearrange cultures for 1.5.
I guess this is spam but I just wanted to say how I am continuously amazed at the level of professionalism, expertise, dedication and attention to detail you guys have brought to this project. I really think you ought to incorporate and build a game of your own from the ground up.

UI = Unit Interface, customised icons and stuff for every faction.
The culture-specific UIs are one of those seemingly minor things which add a massive amount to the *feel* of the game![]()
It's not a map.
Screenies for the poor please?

I think its great. Look forward to more in the future. Especially like the marble effects.
I was going to comment on this when I played the new build, the interface and stuff was all much better and quite cosey especially if you're playing one of the Gallic factions.
Like how you have a wood and moss effect on the background, and leaves going up a marble wall, I really liked it.
The stylized backgrounds for the different factions just make the game so much more enjoyable to play.
It may not be your area but i was wondering if any one else noticed how the KH military buildings have messed txt on what they can build

All barracks do bascially. It's something we can't get around. We have an incredibly complex set of hidden resources and requirements for every unit - just compare our EDB.txt file to any other mod's version and you'll see what I mean. The only real drawback is that it makes it difficult to impossible to tell what all units are available in a specific province for a faction at a specific MIC level with any specific government.![]()
It was something i wanna post about. I had played the previous version, it was a great improvement from original RTW. This version is even better ! I have been really impress by the new look you gave to the game(UI) ! Even the traits and retainers caught my interest. Btw, is it Belushi from SNL you use as icon for comedian ? Two thumbs up from a casual gamer![]()
Are all the factions going to have their own UI or are some going to be the same eg Epirots and Greeks?

They can only be done by culture - but we have more culture swapping going on in the port to 1.5 - and more cultures than in 1.2, so when we get the port done we can start working on some more of the GUI's. We won't say what the culture division is yet though.![]()
I was trying out a Roman interface that was based on roman frescos:

The end turn button just doesn't work like this - so it will be redesigned. What about the red? It's very common in wall paintings, and matches the 'idea' one has when thinking of 'Roman colors', but it is rather strong. Should we drop it and go with some other theme instead?
edit: Ignore the fact that this is Macedon - it's just easier to test out that way.

Isn't the fresco featured in the recruitment button of Samnites and not Romans?
There is a really cool scene from Trajan's column with soliders building a camp; so perhaps scenes from there would work well with the recruitment and building buttons.
Yeah, it's samnites. I was just trying to find a fresco of soldiers and one of a building to place in those two holes temporarily.
It's looks very impressing, i like it.![]()
It's very cool!!!
I think it's too Red...but impressive!

The red's far too strong in my opinion, but great stuff. I personally think the red borders like around 'army' and 'town' are enough red, and the red at the right looks like it's damaged (damn I play too much). Also, why stick in the temple-like building? It looks strange there.

My thoughts exactly. Still, it looks very good indeed.Originally Posted by Tiberius

The red is a little shocking at first. But after taking a stroll through Pompeii, you quickly realize that TA is underplaying the Roman affection for vibrant colors. And if you keep going back to it, after a while it really grows on you. I went from "Dunno" to "Daddy Like!"
"Numidia Delenda Est!"
dude that roman UI is bitchin! i agree with the above comments on red, but the professionalism on the building and recruiment buttons kick ass.
