Thread: Problem with importing horse models.

  1. #1

Default Problem with importing horse models.

I've been playing around with models for horses, but for some reason the CAS import script chokes whenever I try to import a .CAS file that was previously exorted. I can import the vanilla models OK. I can make changes and export the models. The exported models work fine in-game. But when I try to import them - I get a <--No ""+"" function for undefined> error. I'm only making minor changes and the exported models work fine, so it's not that big of a problem, but it would be nice to be able to tweak the models without having to start from scratch.

I think this is a known error with the import/export script. Just save the model as a max scene, then you can edit it as much as possible before exporting it.

Thanks Lusted. Good to know it's not just me screwing things up.

I think the importer doesn't like single models. ie ones with no sub object. So unit models with their primary weapon import fine whereas your horse which is all on model gives an error looking for '+' ie the extra object. try seperating a small part off and linking it as a a sub object of a bone. I'm not sure why this is but as Lusted says it can bew bypassed if you just save your max scene.
