    Default Flugzeugträger Graf Zeppelin

Apparently the German fleet during ww2 had one aircraft carrier - Graf Zeppelin - and another planned for 1940 but which was scrapped before completion. Does anyone know any successful missions that Graf Zeppelin was used in?

It never became operational because Göring had this fetich with maintaining control of ALL planes. Even in the best case it would thus have been a stupendous task to maintain a secure control onboard the ship when the aircommander was effectively outside the command of the naval commander.

Göring also meddled in the convertion of 109s for carrieruse.

So the ship while built and finished more or less, never got a chance to be used as anyting more than a big nice target.
