Default Why are the unit sizes not changed?

Thing is, I'm on Huge setting, and the units are basically the same. The gaesatae are in the same size, when they should be a small amount, and most elites have as much men as a leve or mediocore unit. Why's that? Of course, either you haven't got enough time or you can't change the size, or you haven't got around to doing unit sizes for Huge, or something. Please answer.

There is only one number for unit size, RTW uses it and multiplies it for the various settings.

Oh. Well, I guess RTW made it hardcoded..........

Sorry if I sound patronizing but you did start a new campaign right?

I was under the impression that he was asking about why (for example) elite units are of the same size as levy units. IMHO, the answer is simple: cost. Those elite units may be much better than your average levy unit, but the cost of gaining such units means there'll be less of them anyway.

They aren't though, most elite units are much smaller than levy units (except archer/slinger units, which are small because of some oddities in RTW ranged stats).

Changing unit size doesn't affect old campaigns as Andronikos pointed out.

Yup, you need to set unit size before you start a new campaign.

Unfortunately that only half works only new units will be huge unit size the rest will stay whatever they where before the change was made, these old units can be retrained to full huge unit size but the AI doesn't retrain so its a massive exploit.
