    Default Hostages in Iraq Rescued

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/...ges/index.html
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Just three hours after a newly captured detainee told them the location of three Christian aid workers, coalition troops on Thursday rescued the men who had been held hostage since November.
Good to hear. I wish they had caught the men who did it, though.

very good, i hope they can continue this. but also, the house was completely unguarded, thats a very good sign, the insurgency is growing thin in the ranks and can't spread themselves. We're winning.

Perhaps they were out there conducting well-organized attacks on police stations?

Then perhaps you really are winning, but nobody told the insurgents.

Either way, good to see the surviving hostages freed.

When I first heard they were alone, I thought the insurgents might have gotten wind of it and simply bolted. Seems logical if they were pressed for time. Pulling the hostages along with them would be silly, and had they been willing to truly kill them, then they would have been dead, all of them.

Perhaps it’s a fraud . These people were kidnapped by a group no one heard of, the only person to die (the American) seems to have been killed while trying to escape, the house was unguarded when troops arrived, and the “victims” are part of some wacko left wing peace-nick group.

Still, I agree with the latter.

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

Fantastic news, though if only this had come a few weeks earlier, the fourth hostage might have been found alive too.

What a bunch of ungrateful bastards. Not once did they thank the troops for pulling them out of this. They should have left them in the hands of their "freedom fighters".

The true worth of a man is determined by what he'll do for a man who can do him absolutely no good.

    But yeah, that's pretty ungrateful.
    Good job, 22 regiment.

These people belong to the same group who has repeatedly referred to the US as "occupiers." All politics aside, I think some thanks are warranted and failure to do so is incredibly tacky. It reminds me of when the western parents of the dead bulldozer girl (isreal/palestine) went to Palestine to whine about how terrible Isreal is and they end up being kidnapped by palestenian radicals.

Ungrateful, yes. But you'd still want to free those protestors right?

It's simply the decent thing to do.
