    Default New the The Guild

Hey guys, name's Glaucus, glad to meet you all and to be a part of this forum. I don't have any experience with graphics or modding or skinning or anything, but I like to play RTW alot, though BI didn't really do it for me. Then again, I didn't really give it a chance, so I'm loading it up again right now, maybe it'll be better this time. I like to think of myself as a good player, but I am far better at the Campaign Game then actual battles. I can pretty much defend anything, but attacking is not my forte. I hope to improve on that, thanks for reading.

    Welcome, Glaucus.

If you look around you should be able to find some help with attacking.

    Welcome!

I'm pretty much in the same boat as yourself, I've only ever completed a single campaign in BI, this was a Roxolani one on VH / VH I think.

As for attacking, well in my opinion this comes naturally For example, study an enemy's unit positioning, look for weaknesses, then with a cavalry unit in wedge formation, punch a hole through the enemy's lines. Bring up your heavy infantry quickly to exploit this breech your cavalry have just made.

What I do sometimes is to move your units close to the enemy line so you can attack them without actually attacking first. You can lure them in with skirmishers and archers. Sometimes this doesn't work so even if you have to attack you can charge in and play it as a defensive battle like you normally would.

yea thats what i usually do if I have to attack, pretend I'm defending and force them to attack, but more often then that I style my campaign game to fit my play style. I'll put armies on enemy trade routes and such, and they'll have to attack me. Also, I'll almost always wait out a siege, not assault, since waiting forced them to charge when I can procceed to massacre them.
