Question descr_regions error on map mod.

    Hi all,

I'm using a combination of manual editing, following the tutorial on map editing by Myrddraal, and the map editor by The Trivium Organisation. I'm trying to add a new region to get to grips with modding.

I'm getting the "Can't setup slave faction as the default faction for this region, (roman_julli)" when I start the campaign.

The error occurs on line 26 column 5 of descr_regions.txt ...

    a) Is the 26th line the 26th region entry? If not how do I determine what is?
    b) Any clues to what is causing the issue?

Now this is my first attempt at modding, so I guess I've missed something, but I've tried several times now with the same result.

    Any help appreciated

    In reply to a). only,
no the line reference is literally the 26th line of typing,
open the file in notepad and use 'edit', 'go to', '26' to get to that line.

If that's the third line below the region name I think it refers to the rebel type generated if the province rebels; if you've deleted that rebel type elsewhere it could be the problem.

OK, thanks. That seems to be the very first occurance of the rebel faction slave.

I've just restored from the campaign directory and compared the descr_regions.
It appears that the map editor has changed the rebel faction from Saxons to Slave. I'll stick to the complete manual method and see how I go.

    Thanks for the help.
