While this thread started out humorously, it's become tragic now that we know we are to expect about 10% of the provinces shown here.

I am sure there will be in-depth mods, although I rather suspect they might be more geographically focussed - creating a quality mod with 9x as many provinces is a lot of work.Originally Posted by SirGrotius
Personally, I've always been relaxed about having small numbers of provinces. The whole of TW is an abstraction, so I would think in terms of gameplay rather than historical fidelity here. I prefer fighting fieldbattles to sieges. IMO, having large open spaces as in BI, is more fun than "settlement" hoping, as in RTR. I'm ok with just sieging London, Nottingham & York without having to also get through Oxford, Norwich, Leicester, Bristol, Lincoln, Lancaster, ... (almost ad infinitem). If you did want the latter, a mod focussing just on England - e.g. the War of the Roses or Simon de Montforts rebellion etc might be most suitable.

and also the safavids timurids and moghuls als playable civs.
