Creating sprites?

Hi all.
I've been trying to get CA's sprite generator to work... without success
Basically the sprites are being created (1 spr. 1 tga.), but upon closer inspection the tga appears to be empty

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi, yep sounds like the problem I had, i.e. tga's were just plain black, tried pasting in the preferences from the thread

Got it working in the end by taking the -sprite_script line off the shortcut, starting the game with the shortcut, going into options changing both map resolutions to 16 bit (think from thread that 32 bit might be what gives hundreds of tgas) and turning off anti-aliasing (which has been mentioned elsewhere as the thing that gives black tgas). Then put -sprite_script command back in and it worked.

Makanyane: Did you put the new preferences in the right place? A normal install of RTW will have two preferences files. One in the game directory that is now obsolete, and one in the preferences folder. It's the one in the preferences folder that you need to replace/edit.

Another problem that people might run into is that most graphics drivers allow you to force anti-aliasing from the control panel settings for your graphics card. Obviously you need to switch that off as well.

Worked a treat! Still only 1 tga, but I just played a battle and all the angles seem to be covered. This solves a hell of a lot of problems for me!

DimeBagHo, That explains it, I had noticed new preferences.txt folders at the -mod level and tried changing them! But I hadn't spotted the top level folder, ooops.
