Has anybody used the Terrae Expugnandae 3.1 mod? If so whats it like? Is it better than the regular game.

I have, and it is excellent. it adds new skins and features to the game without destroying the essence of the original game

I've just downloaded it and am trying to play it.

It looks good, but I'm really struggling with CTDs and a jerky/slow interface. I've got a fairly sizeable system, with P4 3.4ghz, Radeon X800 pro 512K graphics and 2gigs of RAM. I've never had any trouble at all with RTW or BI before now, but this mod is slowing my machine right down - especially in battles (I've never yet finished a battle because after getting slower and slower, the battle inevitably CTDs). But also on the campaign map it can get very jerky.

I've put the graphics settings right down to try and resolve this, but it makes no difference.

It's a real shame, as I was looking forward to this, but I think I'll have to give up.

Thats very odd indeed, i have a P4 3.0GHZ, 512MG ram and a shoddy 128MB radeon X300SE, yet it works like a charm on the highest settings....

Maybe you need to download some drivers or summat, i would check out the techy sub-forums about software and tech help
