Summre break is over and I went to another whishy tasting this afternoon - agaon the host managed to offer an amazing selection of single malts.
Especially the last two (a Caol Ila and an Ardbeg - both cask strengths) were fantastic - too bad I have to go to work tomorrow

I havn't had that happen to me for nearly 30 years. Classic.
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

We have Santa Ana winds rolling in, bringing all the flotsam and jetsam of the Nevada and Arizona deserts into our houses, lungs, and sinuses. Funny, before I moved to California, I was famous for never being sick, or at worst, throwing off any kinda bug in less than 24 hours.

But since I've been here (18 years now), when Santa Ana charges through the mountain passes and spreads his filth around my bowl-shaped little valley, I find it harder to breathe. If Div Arma were about, he'd back me up, I'm sure. For some people, Santa Ana makes 'em go temporarily nutzo.

So, after complaining of my ailment to Beirut this morning, he recommended a red-hot "lobster" shower after work (yeah, I work Saturdays) with tea and brandy afterwards.

Did the shower, brewed some Lapsang Souchong, and broke open some cheap-ass brandy I keep around for 'gawd-would-you-shut-up-and-go-home' guests. I don't get many of that kind of guest, which is why that bottle has been sitting there over 3 years.

Well tonight's the night for that little fake-french soldier to take a hit for the team (me).

And your friendly, neighbnorhood moderator is getting slowly, but surely, schnockered. And breathing better, thank you.

TV is dead, and I didn't buy the pay-per-view boxing match for tonight, so you lot are stuck with me.

If I drunkenly issue any warnings or bans tonight, I'll rescind them all in the morning - I promise. And Banquo's Ghost can be my concious, conscience, ermmm yanno, remind me of my better self. :)

Whoa. Been on the O - fest, broke up with my girlfriend, found a new one within approx. 1 hour.

I took a lot of nice pics that I would love to show to my fellow orgahs, but as it seems, i lost my camera, too.

And now, ladies and gents, excuse me, i have the mother of all headaches to take care of.

My dear fellow, I was three sheets to the wind myself last night having fallen into some bawdy French company in the deep, dark streets of Cardiff.

With both of us smashed, the Backroom might have become a beacon of brotherly love - or something. As it was, I couldn't have found a computer if I had been stitched to it, let alone written anything.

    One word.

    Bourbon.

My favorite memories of this place have always been of the drunken parties, via the chatroom.

Where is Mr. Arma anyway? Too busy with the kids? I don't blame him. Still, I do miss a good drinking buddy.

I ought to come back here and organize a drinking party of my own some slow day.

Not that drunk, as you can see, I can type ok. Just kind of buzzed. Saw an old friend from high school, did some vodka bombs, and played some liquor (not beer, :P) pong!

I think my friend hooked up with another friend of mine. Overall good night.

Well, I'm pretty plastered... a couple of friends of mine are sea scouts, and their club had some problems with squatters today. the police was called and most were arrested, I went along with my friends to watch the "carnage" and afterwards started drinking to celebrate the retaking of the stronghold.
