The things I do to slow roman expansion are increasing roman unit costs and make stronger roman ennemies (gauls, macedon, carthage)
Especially for macedon, either you facilitate alliance with greek cities, either you make weaker greek cities so that macedon evade Thermon and Sparte.

I've tryed that.....i've increased the starting amount of money from 5.000 to 50.000 (Greece and Macedon) and brutii decreased to only 100 denari.....but this doesn't seem to work...thanks anyway

Short of removing them completely there is no real way to stop the romans expanding if they have the 3 family and senate system.

But is possible to remove them completely ? As far as I recallis impossible to change the number of factions
You can remove them from the campaign and custom battles, they will still exist in many files, just you won't be able to play as them.
