screwed up modding

I was an idiot and didnt back up my files. Now i cant play multiplayer because it says incompatible game data. If I uninstall the game and then reinstall it will it work?

yes.... as long as you haven't made any completely new files (such as skins etc) then it will delete the old files (even if you have edited them) then install new ones

Yeh, you have to go to the 'saved games' file, it should be before you click on data. Then copy and paste the save games.

back up or move your saves from your:

Program Files\Rome - Total War\saves

folder.

Reinstall RTW, then replace the saves into the aforementioned folder. You'll probably need the same mods installed as the saved games are from, if any.
This works with nearly every computer game so I guess it works with RTW, but I've never actually tried it.

Ok, I reinstalled the game and am having trouble installing the patches, every time I try to install patch v1.5 it says i need v1.3, which I have just downloaded.

have you got BI installed already?

but run 1.3 patch... once it is installed run 1.5 patch

I dont have BI. I downloaded the two patches back to back, is that why it is messed up?

not at all... i think
just make sure you get them in chronalogical order or you could get a few mess ups in files
