So they tought that it was a good idea to ambush me from two directions... If they would have only noticed there was a small line of sea in their way, they could had made boats or something.

Heck, I even tought they were just coming to look their dying mates in my side of coast.

Now, when I pressed end combat after killing only couple of macedonians (their attacking force, other force was behind yhe sea), game decided that the city I was sieging is now captured. I might even load the save file to get to fight against them. this wasn't what I wanted to happen.

Yeah, I can see that that happened that way. It would only happen like that (city would be given to you) if the other army was delayed or blocked like this. That stinks.

I had a similar experience recently. I was besieging the full 20 unit Eleutheroi garrison of Emporion (NE Spain) when my besieging army was attacked by bandits. The battle screen said that the garrison was sallying, yet they were "delayed" on the battlefield, and so the 3 bandit Scutarii had to face the concentrated might of Kart-Hadast all alone.

Needless to say it did not go well for them, but when I won the battle I discovered I had also taken the city, despite never having engaged the 3000 men defending it at all.

It's ridiculous that you can't override the automatic settings that CA puts into effect for your computer and the number of men your computer can handle at any given time on the battlefield. I can't override it and I get this crap happening to me all the time. Blech.

I thought you could change the settings. Well, you can override them anyway. If you change the Unlimited men on battlefield part of the Preferences.txt from True to False or whichever way round it is, reinforcements always arrive immediately and you have to fight them too. Since I changed it on my system I have never had reinforcements delayed at all and everytime I'm attacked while beseiging, I have to fight the garrison too. No pushovers for me...

I changed it but everytime I started RTW back up it would overwrite it and change it back to False. I could never make it stay "True". Very irritated by that too.
