I've gone off and joined the army. I'm shipping out the 25th and will be gone for about 18 weeks for basic, AIT and airbourne, I may return I may not return. I felt the need to tell somebody, so who better than all of you.![]()

You would be surprised. Several of us that post here at the Org are veterns of their respective country's military.Originally Posted by Telys The Conqueror

O well, seems like 'some' people decide to ruin a perfectly valid threat. Nice going guys... doc bean

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.
And several of us here at the Org. are smart enough to say "Thanks!" to the veterans of our respective country's military.Originally Posted by Redleg

Good luck mate, have fun and take care.
All our best Telys The Conqueror. My son is at Fort Benning now graduating OSUT in 3 weeks, then Airborne.
We'll keep your place here at the Org warm - after training, you may actually have a minute or three to stop by again, and we'll be glad to hear from you.
"All The Way, Sir!"
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.
Gl hf! May you carry the banner of Gah with pride and fortune out there!

Bye Telys, I hope you have a blast. Take care.
Of course we care. Hals- und Beinbruch! ('Break you neck and your leg') as the Germans say. Always trust your own instincts. Hope all turns out well for you.Originally Posted by Telys The Conqueror

Fix your attitude and you'll do fine. This "nobody cares" attitude will land you in a world of hurt. Just remember that graduating airborne school is quite an accomplishment and that many people (who never got the chance to even go), consider it a very special thing.
Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.
