IIRC, the latest version of Medmod only works with VI - you have to go back to earlier versions to get one that works with vanilla MTW.Originally Posted by NodachiSam

There's a mod called Patrician. Basically it's RTW for MTW. King David (the creator) was going to call it Rome Total War, but after CA announce RTW, he changed it to Patrician. I tried it once and had fun with it. Roman Legions are very uber.

I'd recommend getting VI, but if you are really hard pressed for cash download the Patrican mod.
But, you should be able to get VI for cheap. I bought it off eBay for £4.50 a week ago, and it should arrive today! So I think you might be able to spare a few bucks and get a cheap second-hand version from eBay.

Thx guys, I'll probably get the VI. Has anyone tried out the Middle Earth mod for MTW? What are your opinions? I'm interested in SP only...
Becoming one with your sword means not becoming / one with your soul realizing who you already are / everything / that there is nothing to become.
Its a O.K. not great, but ok. Half the graphics didn't work, so overall I would only download it if you want to have a laugh at some uber Orcs killing everything that lives.

VI really opens up mod potential - I've tried and love Hellenic, Napoleonic and just got Pike & Musket. I even made a mini-mod with the HTW Roman units and the VI Britain map for a "Britannia 43AD" campaign complete with numerous Brit tribes -- then went and killed my hard drive and lost the wholething. Not very historic on the Romans, as I was still using hastati, triarii and principes, but it was fun (while it lasted, sob).
I've downloaded but still have to try BKB, XL and MedMod so can't comment on those yet. Mainly because I like mods to change the timeframe as much as anything. HTW was a real eye-opener - must reinstall it on the new machine someday.
