You should seen the look on my teenage son when we did the first room search for things he should not have. Rather upset with us - but mostly because we found things he did not want found.

Best thing is to have a trust relationship with your kids

And you base your trust relationship by conducting room searches? Damn, Im glad your not my dad when I was a teen - I mean every sane boy has a magazine under his bed and something that goes "splat" to play on (gameboy, pc, playstation).
