First and foremost, this is not a mod. It a conversion project of RTR 6.0 Gold (surely you guys have heard of it ) which is base on RTW 1.2 patch , which have been convert and ported to be playable on the RTW 1.5 patch platform. This is a community project and not part of the official RTR developers project which currently in their high gear to release the upcoming RTR 7.0 which will be base on the RTW-BI 1.6 engine.

Currently, we're in the Beta 1.2 highly playable and stable status. Please fells free to browse the main discussion thread, the download sections and the ideas and suggestion at the Official RTR Platinum Edition forum.

The final (hopefully) patch which will address few cosmetic issues like correct buildings UI and some units balancing will be release soon, once all the details have been fix.

Currently we have released a Final Beta version of RTR Platinum which is a compilation of 1.0 until 1.3 and also an unrelease patch 1.4 included.

This is the final version which stays tune to the original RTR 6.0 Gold.

From now on, the project will go and and create a new version especially to rebalance all the units to take into consideration the differences of the RTW 1.5 engine.

THe mod also can be played using RomeTW-BI.exe using the BI cd which will have an even better AI.

Just an update that RTR Platinum Edition is currently is in version 1.6 This could be the final patch (if no more CTD caused reported especially RTR's 66 BC CTD).

Guys, I just recently downloaded RTR Platinum but what I miss from the 1.2 release is the start up screen and most of all--the great music! Since RTR has been down (for some time now ) I need to post here. Is there any way to get the music file from the last 1.2 version and transfer it to RTRPE? Should wish i could!

Hmmmm, I found some files I've forgot I downloaded some time ago:

RomeTotalRealism_6.0_Gold.exe (160MB)
RomeTotalRealism_6.2_Music_Addon.exe (125MB)
RomeTotalRealism_6.2_Patch.exe (39,2MB)

After I've installed them and run the game, it loads up with a different loading screen but then nothing until I press ESC and then it crashes to desktop (CDT). Anyone know why

if i were you, download Platinum edition instead.
it uses patch 1.5 and 1.5 runs much faster.
Platinum editon also fixes alot of bugs.
here.
btw you can install 6.2 music on platinum so dont delete it.

Download RTR Platinum... you know that thing tis thread is for? It is for RTR to go with 1.5 patch. Regular RTR 6.0 won't run on the 1.5 patch.

Did you delete the map.rwm files? Also RTRPE can be played through the BI exe which improves ai and other things.

Hmmm, the official RTR forums seem to be still down so therefore I'll post yet another noobish question here:

I recently got a new computer with ATI based graphic and installed RTR on it and everything worked fine. Yesterday a buddy of mine checked my computer and updated my graphic drivers . . . . . . and now the graphic ingame have gone totally haywire . . . . . . anyone else experienced any similar problems and have an idea of how to fix it or do I have to reinstall the game & mod again

I installed it, everything is fine, but on the battlemap if I zoom in all I see is spears of triarii and falangs, also banners. If I do not zoom I can see all units. Please help and sorry if question is in wrong place.

I have tried to download the RTR_Platinum_v1.6_Full_Install but the link is broken. I then managed to download the Rome Total Realism Platinum Edition Full Installer - RTRPE Full (v1.4), but when i try to download the RTR Platinum v1.6 patch the link doesn't seem to work. What can i do?
Or what seem to be the problem with the links?

Do you have some particular reason for wanting v1.6? They seem to be up to v1.9 now, which is probably why the old DL links have expired. See their forum

I have a question concerning Rome Total Realism Platinum version. Currently all I have installed on my computer is the orginial Rome Total War, not BI. After I had successfully downloaded RTR Platinum version, I attempted to start a new campaign but when I did the game crashed to my desktop. I was wondering if anyone could please help me with this dilema.
