    Default A few questions

Will EB keep the 20k per turn for the AI or are there other ideas around for keeping the AI in the game?

I've noticed that on the Greek Campaign, you can only build certain government types in certain territories. While this is nothing new, the types go 1,3,4 and skip the 2nd... I was wondering if this was done intentionally as it was more historically accurate or if just overlooked. I was disappointed when i couldnt build Thessolopian (I know its spelled wrong) cavalry because I couldnt build the level 2 government in that province. - answered

Why does it seem so hard to get any hoplite beyond militia (that can form a phalanx), and not even that far, in Greece? - answered

Will anything be done to prevent rebel cities from creating huge armies that makes them nearly invincible? 10 years into the game every rebel city has a full stack of random units. - answered

Is there anyway to allow ships to battle in ports? - answered

The rebels are meant to be a challenge, not a stroll in the park.

The governments are to reflect on the historical homelands of your faction, meaning that they could only recruit troops where they did so historically. eg. Rome can only recruit from Italia until the Marian reforms.

Edit: the Iphikrates hoplites and above require the second tier barracks to be built. So far I can recruit them in Chalkis and Demetrias in my campaign.

You can have ships fight in ports if you want but it is a bit of an exploit as the AI won't do it to you. I don't use it because I consider them to be protecting their fleet with harbours etc.

Anyway, in order to do it, click on the ship icon on the campaign map, then click the unit card in the bottom panel and drag it over to the position of the enemy fleet. They will battle it out.

With regard to the rebels, I agree they should not be a walk in the park, but I think they may be hampering certain factions a bit too much. In the last 3 campaigns I've started and got to about 230 BC, the Sweboz have never left their starting province and when I send a spy to them, I find 4 or 5 full stack rebel armies around their capital. I play on medium so the rebels rarely attack and wipe them out but that does seem to be the reason they can't expand. Does anyone else see this?

It's a mistake that type2 wasn't available. It's something we are still trying to clear up. The places where type 1 was available - we had just thought no reason would exist to have type2's there too, but obviously there is. We will try to make sure that all places that get type1's will also get access to type2 in the next build.

That's why the advised setting is VH for campaign difficulty. This gives the AI factions a lot of extra dough to finance their conquest of the rebel scum, and provide a challenge (apparently). Personally, I like to let the AI take rebellious provinces and take them from the opposing faction. This gives me an easy province and also weakens the enemy, who have masses of cash bonuses anyway.
