Thread: Great mod and great fun!

Default Great mod and great fun!

I really must say, this mod is great and really adds a lot of depth and competition to RTW. Currently playing a campaign as Romani, its 192 BC right now, just finished throwing the Macedons out of Greece, and the Konion Hellon out of Greece, however they still have one city in modern day Bulgaria. I must say, fighting Macedons and the Greeks took me 14 years to beat, the war is going on its 17th year, and I must say, Rome reigns supreme!

The Aeudi's and Arveni's had been dueling it out before some Roman intervention, taking four cities from them in southern Gaul and southern Germania.

I took Siciliy from Carthage, before sacking Carthage itself, massacred the population, gave the city back to them and we declared a ceasefire. Since 240s BC, Carthage and Rome have been friends.

With my treasury, which right now, after the capture of Byzantium is gaining 50,000 mnai a day, I've bribed several Aeudi and Arveni family members early on. Most recently I have bribed several Macedon and Greek family members, usually I try and grab them when they are young, they go for cheaper

I've been fielding about 5 armies each consisting of 5 Hastari, 5 Princieps, 5 Triari (15 Infantry), 4 Equites / Equivlent Cavalry, and a family member if I can. If there is no family member available, another Triari is added. My garrions vary, depending on where the city is located.

Frontier cities: Family member + 1 cavalry unit, 4 Hastari or Allied Infantry, 2 Allied Archers
Secured cities: Family member + 2 Hastari

Overall, I think this mod is great, can't wait for the port to 1.5 and further additions.

That's a waste though, using your more professional troops as garrisons. I'd just stick with allied soldiers as garrisons, makes the generals a first priority, meaning that the cities get the remaining family members and not the other way round. Archers are a must in your field armies as well, to scatter the defenders standing just behind the gates of a palisade wall.

By the way, welcome to the .org!
